Why might prices differ for one medicine?
As of September 26, 2026, different kinds of prices were being quoted for the same medicines. A discount card gives a pharmacy price outside insurance. An insurance savings card helps reduce what an eligible person pays through private insurance. A government program may have a different patient price. Find out which pricing route the quoted amount uses.
List price is the maker's published price to wholesalers. That published figure is not an individual price quote.
A self-pay or cash price means paying outside insurance. It differs from the amount you might pay using insurance.
What does a cash offer look like?
A cash offer checked September 26, 2026, set a $199 price for each of the first two monthly prescription fills of semaglutide (Ozempic) pens.
The offer does not cover every strength. Strength means the amount of drug in the prescribed product. Ask the pharmacist to check your prescription against the offer's terms before relying on the $199 price.
Once those opening fills were used, the medicine alone cost $349 or $499 per month; the prescribed strength determined which price applied. Visits and other care costs are separate.
